New government incentives will make it cheaper and easier for businesses to meet compliance obligations under the ASI’s Steelwork Compliance Australia (SCA) and Steel Sustainability Australia (SSA) schemes.

Rebates up to $50,000 are being offered to cover up to 50% of the cost of small-scale, on-site equipment or technology that avoids, reduces, reuses, or recycles waste. Small businesses can access a $1,000 rebate to purchase eligible safety items to make the workplace safer, including managing or eliminating hazards and risks that may cause serious injury, illness or death at work. The rebate only applies to safety items on the eligible items list.

Eligible NSW businesses can use this grant to assess whether a heat pump is a feasible option for their site. You can apply for up to $30,000 to cover 75% of the project costs.
