We’re excited to share that the SSA Program has been awarded higher Responsible Product Values (RPVs) across all certification levels, following the Green Building Council of Australia’s latest review of the SSA Technical Requirements v1.5.
This means every SSA certification level has officially moved up in classification:
These additional RPVs have been awarded under GBCA's Chain of Custody credit for SSA’s robust steel traceability process (Credit 4.1) and under GBCA's Impact to Nature credit for SSA's comprehensive Environmental Management System requirements (Credit 2.1), which now includes hotspot analysis and identifying manufacturing processes that could result in environmental impacts to air, land and water.
This is a major step forward — not just for the SSA Program, but for the broader push toward sustainable, responsible building products in Australia.
The additional RPVs in the table below apply to all certifications or re-certifications under SSA v1.5.
