Structural steel fabricator ACT Steelworks is the first company to certify to the ASI Steel Sustainability Australia (SSA) certification program. “It is great to get it over the line to complement our ASI Steelwork Compliance Australia (SCA) accreditation program for structural steelwork,” ACT Steelworks estimating manager Adam Perry said. The SSA process was “quite thorough” and the company was confident it would lead to improved environmental, social and governance practices, Perry said. “We are currently doing a refresh of the ACT Steelworks brand and this will be great addition. SSA was very helpful in its approach.”
The SSA program launched in January this year is gaining momentum with fabricators, rollformers and reinforcing processors currently undergoing the certification process. The certification status of steelwork companies undergoing SSA certification can be viewed via the online SSA Supplier Listing.
